Getting started
Try to choose times when kids are well rested and have had a full tummy to go on. It's OK to bring a few of their favorite snacks or drinks along and maybe even some familiar items. These can be items to photograph with, or to just have nearby for reassurance.
Consider a theme for your child’s pictures - cute & cuddly, old fashioned, lacy, sporty, or maybe bare. Perhaps you're thinking formal, or maybe casual. These are memories of your child at this moment in their life, so the question becomes - how do I want to remember my child? The internet and our website is a great source of ideas for children’s photography.
Bright colors or loud designs can be distracting, taking the attention away from your child's face. Clothes should reflect the theme you might be thinking of as well as their personalities. There is a fully equipped dressing room in the studio for clothing changes.

Without a doubt, kids are a kick! Their unending energy & spontaneity create both the greatest challenge & most fun - all in one. And, we love them. Capturing a reflection of their innocence, love and curiosity is truly a joy.
A pre-session consultation may be arranged in the studio or by phone conversation. Considering the nature of children as a whole, and because they tend to have an attention span of a nano-second, their portrait sessions tend to move along very quickly. Consequently a little preplanning and preparation goes a long way towards a successful photographic experience.
