Gail Mooney...
That's me (the gal with the black shirt on). Basically, I'm a pretty straight-forward person with a real passion for people, photography and the arts. I'm a story-teller by nature - love to hear a good story - love to tell a good story. Got that from my dad.

Born and raised in North Dakota by tremendously supportive parents - and influenced by a life with five brothers! - life has lead me through some wonderful places and experiences. As a kid, I loved taking pictures with the family Kodak instamatic. A favorite past-time was rifling through the family photo albums with mom or grandma, reliving feelings and times, or hearing new stories that would come from seeing them. I loved those times and without realizing it a pattern formed very early - preserving memories to share with others.

My first real passion in life was art, and so after receiving an education in graphic art in Orlando, Florida in 1986, I accepted work as an illustrator with an amazing man who owned a national photography business. In the time spent working with this company I learned the art of portrait photography and found for the first time that the love of art, pictures and people truely was my calling in life - it has fit like a glove in all the years since.

Upon relocating back to the Red River Valley in 1995, "MoonShot Photography" was born on the small farmstead my little family lives on. Every portrait session, every wedding, has been a growing experience - both personally and professionally. Memories have been captured, friends have been made & wonderful relationships have been built.

I'm blessed to be where I am today (and I LOVE my job).

The Family...
There is no doubt that MoonShot has been hugely influenced by the family. Without their support and involvement, none of this could exist, let alone thrive. Everybody participates in one way or another - even little Ryan (my up and coming master photographer).

Walter, my husband, has little interest in picking up a camera, but is extremely supportive of the business on a whole. He is unfailing in backing the many "growing" decisions made for the business and is a constant source of help in countless other ways. I'm a lucky girl.

My daugher Kate has been an incredible help through the years. She has taken on the role of office manager, confidant, and all-around cheerleader for several years now, and continues to drive the business behind the scenes. Recently married and looking forward to graduating from NDSU this spring, Kate will be sorely missed when she ventures off to find work in her accounting field. Kate's new husband, Derek, is a great guy that we just love having in the family - Ryan couldn't be happier to have a big brother.

Ryan (eight, going on thirty-eight) is our little gem. He keeps the entire family entertained and balanced. When the days are long or rocky, we always have his wonderful smile to bring us back to reality.
God's little gift
